Phillip Alvelda

MobiTV/Idetic

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Phillip was the founding Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer of The MicroDisplay Corporation, a manufacturer of ultra-high resolution miniature displays for portable systems and low cost HDTVs. Prior to MicroDisplay, he was a developer of spacecraft hardware and software systems for image processing and data compression at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Dr. Alvelda holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Cornell University and received his Masters and PhD degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Ted Cohen
EMI Music
Senior Vice President, Digital Development and Distribution

Ted oversees worldwide digital business development for this "big five" record company, which includes labels such as Capitol, Virgin, Angel/Blue Note, Parlophone and Chrysalis. Under Cohen's guidance, EMI has led the industry with its initiatives in new technologies and new business models. In addition to seeking out, evaluating and executing business opportunities for the company, Cohen serves as both a strategist and key decision-maker for EMI’s global new media and anti-piracy efforts. He has worked to establish company-wide digital policies, which have provided EMI's artists and labels a substantial advantage in the digital music arena.

Sue Marek
Wireless Week
Executive Editor

Sue, a member of Wireless Week's original launch team in 1995, has more than a decade of publishing experience. She coordinated production of the start-up publication as managing editor. Before Wireless Week, Ms. Marek worked as managing editor of Convergence, a monthly magazine for cable television, phone and wireless network operators. From 1999 to 2001, she temporarily left Wireless Week to specialize in wireless data and broadband as news editor and analyst at Paul Kagan Associates.

Jeremy Toeman

Sling Media

Vice President, Market Development

Jeremy is responsible for guiding development of the Slingbox from conception to launch. He is a company spokesperson and evangelist within the technology industry as well as and interacting directly with customers. At 2005 CES, the Slingbox won a "Next Big Thing" award as well as "Best Home Media Networking" award. Mr. Toeman has worked in the field of convergence of consumers and digital media for over seven years. In the late 90s he founded a website called Palmtastik, designed to help early PalmPilot users get the most out of their devices. In 1999, Mr. Toeman co-founded Mediabolic, a software company who provided digital media networking technology to consumer electronics and computer manufacturers. While at Mediabolic, he helped design convergence products for companies like Pioneer, HP, and Denon. With each company, Mr. Toeman acted as a product evangelist on behalf of Mediabolic and its partners.

Robert Zitter

HBO
Executive Vice President, Technology Operations and Chief Technology Officer

Bob is responsible for the company’s technology interest worldwide, overseeing distribution, origination, production operations and engineering. In addition, he oversees HBO’s new technology planning and was responsible for HBO’s pioneering introduction of digital compression technology in 1992, the development and launch of HBO HDTV in 1999, and the technology aspects of HBO on Demand. Mr. Zitter was also one of the founders of HBO’s businesses in Latin America, Asia and Europe. He joined HBO in l98l as Director of Network Operations. In 1983 Mr. Zitter was named Vice President of Network Planning. In this post, he was responsible for overseeing the roll-out of HBO's nationwide satellite scrambling program as well as acquiring the company's satellite capacity.
