Ian Blaine

Simon leads research and development efforts for SafeNet’s DRM product line. He is a noted researcher and authority in areas of security and wireless. Dr. Blake-Wilson is also the co-inventor of EAP-TTLS, one of the industry’s most popular WLAN security solutions, and is the principal author of several patents and standards related to authentication protocol and mobile certificate security technology. Prior to joining SafeNet, he was Director, Information Security for Basic Commerce and Industries where he oversaw the development and implementation of infrastructure security projects for U.S. government agencies. Previously, Dr. Blake-Wilson spent eight years at Certicom Corporation where he held several positions including director of cryptographic research and business development. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and a member of AMS, IACR, ICA, IEEE, IMA, and LMS. In his role for Discovery On Demand, Mr. Craig oversees programming strategy and the use of the more than 100,000 hours of Discovery Networks content. He also supervises the creation of added-value VOD programming elements, develops Discovery On Demand packages for advertisers and affiliates, and coordinates with Discovery Networks’ on-air marketing department to use VOD to promote Discovery’s linear networks. Ken is a prophet of the new music industry, and one of the few feverish advocates of artists rights. He and Fred Goldring started their practice in 1989 as partners in the law firm now called Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman & Warren, Hertz & Goldring, LLC. Pushing them forward was the belief that a singular focus on supporting artists would build a solid business and avoid the conflict of interests rampant in the music industry. Mr. Hertz is probably the only music attorney not working for a company that participates in the SDMI (Secure Digital Music Initiative) meetings, and has been activly participationg in this process. John has spent almost two decades in the music industry pioneering innovative and interactive ways for fans to access their favorite music. He is responsible for managing relationships with MusicNet's numerous music partners including all five major record labels and their subsidiaries, as well as a plethora of independent labels. In addition, Mr. Jones oversees the entire catalog of music in the MusicNet service accounting for pushing tracks into the system, clearing their publishing rights and making millions of tracks available to consumers through MusicNet's distributors. He also manages all aspects of programming and bringing original content to the service.

David oversees all operations for several of the company’s properties, including Yahoo! Sports, Yahoo! Movies and Yahoo! Television. In this role, he drives the overall strategic direction for several of the Web’s leading sports and entertainment products, and in total, the sites under his direction reach approximately 35 million unique users each month. Prior to Yahoo!, Mr. Katz served as Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning and Interactive Ventures, CBS Television, reporting to Leslie Moonves, Co-President and Co-Chief Operating Officer, Viacom and Chairman, CBS and Nancy Tellem, President, CBS Paramount Network Television Entertainment Group. Ms. Kevorkian has been quoted in a variety of publications, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Fortune and Forbes, and has been featured on CBS, CNBC and TechTV programs. Prior to joining IDC, she worked in various capacities for Borders Books and Music, MarchFirst, and Salon.com. She attended Thunderbird, The Garvin School of International Management, where she completed a Masters of Business Administration in International Management. Ms. Kevorkian also holds a B.A. in history and French from Washington University in Saint Louis.

George Kliavkoff

George is responsible for MLBAM's New Media licensing business and for all business development related to baseball's interactive media unit. His responsibilities include licensing all technology necessary to build and maintain the online and IP-delivered assets of MLB and its 30 baseball Clubs. Additionally, Mr. Kliavkoff has primary responsibility for distributing MLB's online subscription products, including all audio and video game packages. He oversees MLBAM's strategic relationships and any M&A work and runs MLB's wireless, IPTV, VOD, Set Top Box and PC Internet licensing businesses. Mr. Kliavkoff also oversees MLBAM's search strategy and its games (console, internet, mobile and fantasy) licensing programs. Prior to joining MLBAM, he ran the business development group for RealNetworks' consumer division for more than four years.

 

Mike Kobb

Mike contributes extensively to the architecture of Roku’s products; designing the interface on PhotoBridge HD and many of the music playing features on SoundBridge. He brings more than twelve years experience to Roku. Prior to Roku, Mr. Kobb served as Senior Software Engineer at Rearden Steel/Moxi/Digeo and was responsible for recording schedule systems and tuner management. Before Rearden Steel, he served as Senior Software Engineer at ReplyTV and was responsible for design of various features on versions 1.1 through 3.x. Mr. Kobb began his career at Apple computer working primarily on the design aspects and implementation of the “Finder” and “Sherlock”. He has spoken on various panel discussions at industry events such as CES and has presented Roku products at user groups and live radio shows. Mr. Kobb holds a S.B degree in computer science and electrical engineering from M.I.T.

Mr. Kuhrt made the transition from broadcast television to interactive television in 2004. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder School of Journalism and Mass Communication where he received his bachelor's degree in Broadcast Production and Broadcast Management.
 

Barry Layne

Barry leads the company's diverse media and entertainment platforms and businesses. He has been with National Lampoon since May 2002. Prior to joining National Lampoon, Mr. Layne held a number of senior roles in the media and entertainment industries. For more than a decade, he has played a key role in the development and management of a number companies in at the intersection of the entertainment and new media worlds. Mr. Layne’s additional experience includes time as East Coast Bureau Chief for The Hollywood Reporter, production roles with a number of national radio networks, including the Associated Press Broadcast Service and the RKO Radio Networks, and on-air and production roles for major New York City and network radio outlets. He has authored numerous articles, served as keynote speaker at a wide range of conferences and contributed to three books focused on marketing and interactive media.

His career highlights include the launch of HD Cinema for VOOM; the creation of Noggin, the first educational children’s network and a joint venture between Sesame Workshop and Nickelodeon; a founder of CRIME, a broadband platform that was sold to USA Cable; and he was instrumental in spearheading News Corp.’s acquisition of Star-TV, the leading satellite platform in Asia. Most recently, Mr. Lee was the Founder of Lee Consulting Company in New York and served as a consultant to various major media companies including Comcast, Court TV and The Hinduja Group, the largest multiple system operator in India. He was also an executive at Universal Television, where he served as General Manager and Head of CRIME, the first 24-hour cable network dedicated to the crime genre. CRIME was a broadband extension of CRIME.COM, a company he founded with John Langley, the Executive Producer and Creator of the long-running Fox television series, “Cops.”

Mr. Lipscomb has directly managed sales and marketing organizations with staffs greater than 25 and has been responsible for the release of more than one-hundred game titles (resulting in sales of over $600 million dollars in revenue).

Mr. Lopez is regarded as an industry leader and has extensive experience with technology platforms including GSM, UMTS-3G, Java, BREW, broadband and the overall digital content value chain. He joins WDIG from the digital division of Sony Pictures Entertainment, where he was Director of Worldwide Licensing and Acquisitions.

 

Paul Maglione

During his tenure, he helped lead the successful restructuring of 7th Level from a CD ROM development company into its status as a leader in enhanced learning and communications services for the web. At 7th level Mr. Marvis generated and implemented business partnerships with Real Networks, GeoCities, broadcast.com, IBM. In addition, he was a founder of multimedia start-up Powerhouse Entertainment. In this role, he is responsible for business development initiatives all divisions of the Entertainment Group including Playboy Mobile, Playboy Online and Playboy TV. Before joining Playboy, Mr. Petrovic served as Vice President of Business Development for AG Interactive, the new media division of American Greetings.
