Chris is responsible for driving Yahoo! Music’s global product vision and managing the strategic product and service roadmap, since the acquisition of Musicmatch by Yahoo! in October 2004. A seasoned executive with over 10 years of product/marketing experience, he oversees consumer marketing initiatives including merchandising, e-commerce, and partner marketing activities, as well as customer acquisition and retention strategies for Yahoo Music’s subscription services. Mr. Allen is also chartered with analyzing future product trends to evaluate integration of digital music services into emerging technologies and devices. Prior to joining Musicmatch in May of 2000, he was a co-founder and head of Product Marketing and Strategic Planning at Kablink, an online photo service company. Scott is responsible for negotiating license agreements with U.S. Internet and wireless carrier companies, developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies and music performance agreements for new media customers, and for representing BMI’s repertoire and copyright clearance services. A seasoned media/music industry veteran, he has successfully been involved with the largest broadcast groups, Internet companies and wireless carrier networks and content providers. Additionally, Mr. Andrews has been directly involved in many of BMI’s new technology initiatives including BMI’s Digital Licensing Center for online licensing of Internet customers; BMI’s Electronic Music-Use Reporting System for broadcast radio station customers; and other initiatives designed to streamline business practices through the use of new technologies.

Louis began working in the entertainment industry as a director/producer of music videos while attending film school at California State University – Northridge (CSUN). The first video he directed was for NOFX’s track “Bob.” His second video was for Guttermouth’s track “1, 2, 3 Slam!.” The video won the Cal State Academy Award for Best Music Video. At the request of Guttermouth, Hopeless Records was created to release a 7” for them as they were between labels. Mr. Posen had no prior experience running a record label, so he bought a book called “How to Run an Independent Record Label” and released the 7” in December of 1993. The first track on the 7” was called Hopeless. Realizing he needed to name the label, he borrowed the name and thus Hopeless Records was born.

Mr. Steele programmed KNAC/Los Angeles, the syndicated program Rockline, KRXX/Minneapolis, and WXTA/Miami before joining Clear Channel South Florida as Regional Director of Programming. He also served as part of James Brown's management team, and worked in the licensing and publishing of his music.

In addition, he oversaw Enpocket’s Japanese operations including sales, product marketing and professional services. Mr. Tsui joined Enpocket as a result of the SkyGo acquisition, an early pioneer in mobile marketing funded by VeriSign, Vanguard Ventures and others.

Dave leads the company’s global marketing efforts for seamless music solutions that span across the home, phone and automobile. A veteran of the digital music market, he has held a variety of executive roles with wireless, hardware and software companies, including as General Manager for Adaptec Software, initiating its spinout to form today’s Napster. Mr. Ulmer has a long history of championing and chaperoning leading edge products into mainstream consumer markets.

Pedro Vargas

Pedro is responsible for setting SanDisk’s strategy and direction in content and digital entertainment (music, video and games) for the mobile and portable media markets. Prior to SanDisk, he was at Intel Corporation and Yahoo! Music where he was responsible for business development across content, digital media and music services. Mr. Vargas also founded two venture funded digital music companies: DigMedia and NewTechMusic.

Fred von Lohman

Senior Intellectual Property Attorney

Fred is a senior staff attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation, specializing in intellectual property issues. In that role, he has represented programmers, technology innovators, and individuals in litigation against every major record label, movie studio, and television network (as well as several cable TV networks and music publishers) in the United States. In additon to litigation, Mr. von Lohmann is involved in EFF's efforts to educate policy-makers regarding the proper balance between intellectual property protection and the public interest in fair use, free expression, and innovation.

 

Damon Williams

Music Choice

Vice President, Programming

Damon joined Music Choice in 1998 to head-up the Urban programming team. As he pursued additional responsibilities, Mr. Williams realized several promotions which ultimately lead to the management of the entire Music Choice programming group in 2003. Under his leadership, the programming team has grown substantially and is now responsible for producing audio and video programming for the Music Choice Television Network, the new broadband music service, and the Music Choice channel on Sprint's PCS service.

 

Robert Williams

Robert is responsible for developing the company's world-class music products, including the award-winning Rhapsody service. Before joining Real in 2005, he was General Manager and Vice President of the Client Product Group at Openwave Systems, a global provider of standards-based software and services for the mobile industry. Mr. Williams came to Openwave in 2001 through the company's acquisition of Avogadro, a company he co-founded to help bridge the gap between PCs and mobile devices. Mr. Williams' prior experience includes eight years at Microsoft Corporation where he was a key contributor to Microsoft Windows' networking and multimedia technologies. He holds a BASc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada.

 

Roger Wood

Executive Vice President, Marketing

Roger was Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Media, Entertainment and Technology Practice for the British consulting firm Willis Group. Prior, he served as Corporate Vice President of Global Marketing at Reebok International. Mr. Wood served as Director and General Manager of the international business for the predecessor companies to T-Mobile Wireless, then known as Omnipoint. His career began with Motorola, where he led marketing for the iDEN phone division.

Paul Wright

Mediaguide, Inc.

Vice President, Music Business Development

Paul oversees strategic partnerships for the media monitoring and technology company focusing on connecting online and offline communities. Prior to Mediaguide, he co-founded Frequency Media, which combined with Mediaguide in 2002; worked corporate development for Imax Corporation and Media & Entertainment Corporate Finance for Bear Stearns. Mr. Wright graduated Cum Laude with honors from Washington & Lee with B.A. degrees in Economics and Journalism.
