The
2nd Annual MoTV Summit at NAB2007 is about the next revolution
in mobile media: the migration of near-TV quality video to
cellphones.
Two Models for Mobile Video
As the summit convenes, carriers are rushing
toward two models for mobile video: a "one-to-one"
model that lets users pick the video-on-demand or streaming
video content they want over the mobile Internet; and a "one-to-many"
model that brings true television over a dedicated spectrum
to users.
For programmers, these are developments as important as the
migration of video and television content to the Internet.
That's why MoTV -- a term coined by iHollywood Forum -- is
being held at NAB2007, the largest television convention in
the world.
Best
of Two Conferences
As
an officially sanctioned event, we bring you the best of two
conferences -- MoTV, a dealmaking summit where you can rub
shoulders and learn from the movers and shakers in video,
mobile and technology; and NAB2007, which expects more than
100,000 attendees, sponsors and exhibitors from around the
world.
How Mobile Video Will Be Monetized
Hollywood and mobile carriers believe mobile
video -- including TV broadcasting on cell phones -- is
a potentially huge market within the next 12 months.
However, to create it they must answer questions such as
these: How can TV and video be monetized? What's the value
proposition for broadcasters and cable companies? How much
time will consumers spend watching content, what quality
level will they demand and how should content be tailored
to phones? What's the best delivery mechanism? And how should
ancillary services such as text messaging be integrated?
Last year we sold out weeks
in advance, with a standing- room- only crowd of 800.
We'll bring together the top executives in this emerging
business: carriers, studio executives, content creators,
producers, broadcasters, cable companies, aggregators, technology
solution providers and others who are making mobile video
and TV a reality.
We'll consider the leading technologies and their champions:
Nokia and DVBH; Samsung and satellite broadcasting; QUALCOMM
and MediaFlo; Verizon and Vcast; and others. We'll consider
how to create mobile content that grabs consumers and makes
money.
And we won't forget ancillary revenues that TV networks,
TV stations and radio stations can put in place right now
to bolster profits and build their brands: SMS text messaging
services, wallpaper, ringtones, quizzes, games and much
more.
As always, the Forum will be integrated with iHollywood
Forum's prized networking opportunities, so that you can
make deals while you're learning about Mobile Video and
TV's cutting-edge and near future!
