Mr. Adelson is a Managing Director with Houlihan Lokey’s
Los Angeles office where he co-heads the firm’s
Media, Sports & Entertainment Group. Since joining
Houlihan Lokey, the MSE Group has served as advisors
on such deals as the acquisition of MGM by Sony, Comcast
and various private equity firms, NBC’s acquisition
of Vivendi Universal, as well as the sale of Media
Defender. All three deals were named ‘Media
Deals of the Year’ in various M&A trade
publications. Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Adelson
was a principal and cofounder of Media Connect Partners,
a provider of financial and operating advisory services
to media, entertainment, sports and communications
companies. He has more than 25 years’ experience
as a television and film producer and as an executive
and entrepreneur in media, entertainment telecommunications
and venture capital.

Daniel Berninger joined Tier1 Research in
August 2004 as Senior Analyst covering the telecom
industry. Daniel has over a decade of experience that
includes helping to launch three prominent VoIP startups
- ITXC, Vonage, and Free World Dialup. His expertise
on the intersection of telecom and the Internet has
been sought by Congress, FCC, Federal Reserve, and
state PSC's. Daniel led earlier VoIP deployments at
Verizon, HP, and NASA for VocalTec Communications.
Mr. Berninger won the 1999 VON Pioneer Award for co-founding

Stephen Mannel is responsible for creating the IBM
"Point of View" for the distribution segment of the
cable business. This work helps determine the trends
and the accompanying needs of the operators over the
next two to three years. IBM will invest their time,

for our clients based on that analysis and the relationships
with our clients. Mannel also manages the business
development and executive relationships between IBM
and its two largest cable accounts, Comcast and Time
