Knox Carey

Knox Carey is responsible for strategic market development for media

technology initiatives at Intertrust. He is an active driver of our activities in international standards bodies and industry specifications for digital rights management and trusted computing, serving as Chairman of the Architecture Working Committee of the Coral Consortium DRM Interoperability effort.  Furthermore, he is responsible for the market development and specification of Intertrust's media service interoperability reference technologies.  Dr. Carey joined Intertrust in 1999 as a member of the Technology Initiatives Staff. Prior to joining Intertrust he was a research scientist at Sony Corporation, where his work focused on advanced audio and video data compression. He was also VP of Engineering at Axiomatic Corporation, a startup in interactive TV middleware.  Dr. Carey earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.

This portfolio covers communication test and troubleshooting equipment for LAN, WAN and mobile networks and focuses on next generation voice, video and broadband data services. During Joe's ten years of experience within HP and Agilent's data communication market, he has contributed as a Hardware Support Engineer, Application Support Engineer, Business Development Manager, Product Manager and currently as the 3P Segment Manager where he manages the ASD strategic direction and market initiatives. Joe has been featured as a speaker at many industry events and is recognized as an expert in next generation voice, video and data networks. Steve West

With a lengthy resume of IPTV and video marketing and strategy experience dating back to the late 90's , Mr. West is an Alcatel-Lucent Marketing/Strategy lead responsible for North American activities related to Alcatel-Lucent's "triple play" solution including the Microsoft IPTV platform. Prior to Alcatel-Lucent's acquisition of iMagicTV in 2003, Mr. West was Director of Product Management, Media Manager IPTV platform. Prior to iMagicTV, Mr. West was responsible for consumer broadband services marketing, including the world's first commercial launch of a consumer mass market IPTV service at Aliant Telecom, Atlantic Canada's largest telecom service provider.

Prior to Worksoft, he was president and CEO of OSE Systems Inc.(ENEA.ST), growing the company from a startup in 1997 to the number two embedded operating system supplier in 2001 with a stock market valuation of over $1 billion. In addition to a number of startups, Dave's professional career includes Nortel Networks where he was part of the team that developed and introduced the precursor to Optical Ethernet, Tellabs, Telus and CNCP Telecommunications where his team designed and deployed Canada's first multi-service network and Canada's first competitive long distance voice service. In this role, he provides the technical leadership and strategy for the worldwide organization. For the past four years Levy has been Group Technology Officer, Service Strategy and Innovation in BT. He has been instrumental in the BT's 21st Century Network programme, where he developed the SOA architecture for the network and initiated the development of many new transformational services. Levy has been a keynote speaker at many major conferences throughout the world and he has penned my articles. Levy has also played a key role in industry forums such as the IP Sphere Forum and the Home Gateway Initiative. Vicki Warker

Ms. Warker is responsible for the company's growth initiatives and maximizing the company's performance in serving the video and network services customer groups. In addition, she manages all product development, product management and rationalization initiatives, and customer feedback and analysis to ensure Intelsat's products and services anticipate customer needs and market demand.  Ms. Warker previously served as Vice President of Marketing and Products within the Sprint Business Solutions organization. In that role, Warker had responsibility for product marketing, vertical marketing, pricing and offer development for business customers. Peggy Miles

Peggy Miles was an early pioneer in webcasting , and digital media commencing in 1995 when she started her company, InterVox Communications which provides digital media strategy and business development, and then founded the International Webcasting Association . Ms Miles has facilitated a webcasting list since 1996, which continues today. Her first two members were Mark Cuban and Howard Gordon. She is considered a futurist and on the cutting edge. She produced the first CBS webcasts of the All Stars Broadcasting Live, which included baseball interactive games. She was instrumental in working with a Korean company that built the first portable players, and video phone prototypes that Bill Gates displayed at his keynote at CES in 2001. She produced the first TV and Internet Web Auction with Home Team Sports benefiting the Leukemia Association. The auction was presented on the Net and on network broadcast stations at the same time following a Baltimore Orioles game. Her work in China includes promotion and development of a digital media training center. More than 10 years ago, Miles created with KCBS FM in Los Angeles (Dick Van Dyke) a now playing application that showed songs and program data on the Internet. Unique to this was the in-sync delivery of the songs that were playing on the air to billboards around Los Angeles as well as displayed Live on the station's webpage. Miles worked with multimedia BB, bulletin board services and interactive voice response systems (IVR). She continues her role today as a leading business strategist, trainer, presenter and keynote speaker.

Kumar Shah

Bob Wilson , Chairman and CEO of Modulus Video previously served for seven years as a member of the executive committee at Pinnacle Systems. He served in various senior leadership roles including as president of the Broadcast Solutions Division. During that time Pinnacle grew revenues more than tenfold to over $350 million and increased total shareholder value by almost $600 million. Before joining Pinnacle Systems, Wilson served as executive vice president, chief operating officer, chief financial officer and as a member of the board of Accom, Inc., another pioneering video company. While at Accom the company grew dramatically and completed a successful IPO. Prior to joining Accom, Wilson served as president and chief executive officer of The Grass Valley Group (GVG is now part of Thomson Multimedia) which provides video systems to production, post-production and broadcast markets. While at GVG, then an independently operated subsidiary of Tektronix, Wilson lead a transformation of the organization, revitalized the product lines, entered important new markets and helped the organization transition to supplying complete high end digital video solutions. Before leading GVG, Wilson served as vice president of Merchant Banking Wasserstein Perella, an investment bank based in New York City . He was part of the leadership team responsible for investments in the bank's $2 billion fund. He additionally held a variety of senior executive level positions in general management, finance, marketing, and sales for Ampex Corporation which was then a $700 million leader in the broadcast video marketplace. Mr. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Sheau Ng

Sheau has been with the digital revolution from the start, contributing to MPEG, ATSC, DVD, and various technical standards activities. His career spans from compression research to product development in consumer electronics, semiconductors, and content/media industries. He was an contributing member of the Grand Alliance team, working at Sarnoff in late 80s. In early 90s, Sheau was part of Toshiba's DVD team, where he helped build the world's first DVD encoder. While at Toshiba, he also chaired the DAVIC 1.0 Technical Committee. Later, he was the architect of Philips first consumer HDTV on the ATSC market. At Philips, and later on at ATI, he was responsible for the software architecture of their DTV system-on-chip solutions. Sheau is now a vice president at NBC Universal, with responsibility in the areas of consumer and broadcast technology, standards, and policy. He chairs the Content Protection Task Group in the High-Definition Audio-Video Network Alliance (HANA). He is an active member at the CEA IPTV OCC, and many other industry groups. He is focusing his attention on making digital entertainment a worldwide reality. Sheau holds graduate degrees from M.I.T., and had done post-graduate work at Princeton University. He also attended the executive MBA program at INSEAD. He currently holds over 30 patents worldwide. He lives in Boston with his wife and two children.

A frequent speaker at IPTV and television conferences in Europe, Asia and North America , he currently serves as Editor for the Performance Monitoring/Quality of Service workgroup of the ITU-T/IPTV-FG.

Angela was formally president of Stratus Rewards, where she was charged with scaling and bringing to profitability the VISA "White Card." Formally director of marketing, Residential, for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, she was responsible for customer acquisition and retention efforts. Angela has held executive positions at Food.com, Napa Valley Kitchens, Electronic Arts and Brøderbund Software where she spearheaded the team for the ground-breaking Living Books line. Braxton previously worked at Cox Communications, where he was director of product strategy. At Cox, he led product development, product strategy and business development for advanced digital television services including video-on-demand, interactive TV and advertising on-demand. Before joining Cox, Braxton served as Vice President at Communications Equity Associates, an investment and merchant bank specializing in cable television and telecommunications industries.Braxton graduated from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in Engineering Sciences with a concentration in Digital Design.

Alan joins TANDBERG Television from Pace Micro Technology where he spent five years as IPTV Product Manager. D uring this period he developed and implemented a strategic business plan for the company's IPTV services and maintained ownership of Pace's IPTV product portfolio in terms of roadmap, pricing, customer requirements specification, profitability and timely platform delivery. Alan started his career at Iomega Ireland where he worked in a variety of roles before joining Iomega UK , initially as OEM Technical Marketing Engineer. Kevin S. Wirick

Kevin Wirick is Vice President, Marketing for the IP Video Solutions group within Motorola’s Connected Home Solutions business.  Kevin joined the former General Instrument Corporation in 1996 and contributed to the development of the first digital cable system deployments with the Headend In The Sky (HITS) system.  He has lead the introduction of several new video technologies including the first commercial High Definition satellite video network systems,  interactive digital video cable networks, and direct broadcast satellite networks.  As Vice President for Marketing, Kevin is responsible for developing and executing the product strategy to serve content providers and service providers deploying IPTV over DSL.  Prior to General Instrument, Kevin was with TRW in Redondo Beach, Ca where he developed satellite communications systems and Wide Area Network switching equipment.  Kevin holds a MSEE from the University of Southern California and a BSEE from Bradley University, and is a member of SCTE and CTAM.

 

Martin J. Stein

Mr. Stein directs  marketing and business development activities related to MPEG-based standard definition and high definition video processing  products.  These include satellite, cable, telco, and terrestrial transmission systems, access control and encryption systems,  IP set tops, and commercial integrated receiver/decoders.  Mr. Stein has also been instrumental in establishing third party partnership agreements to provide more comprehensive solutions for Motorola customers.  Prior to joining Motorola’s Connected Home Solutions Sector ( formerly General Instrument), Mr. Stein was marketing manager for imaging, film, and video storage devices at Ampex Corporation, a leader in video recording equipment based in Redwood City, California.  Mr. Stein earned a B.S. in industrial engineering at Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, and an M.B.A  at California State University, Fullerton.
