| Bio:Mr.
Coghill has over 20 years experience in technology based
companies, the first 10 in various design engineering
and management roles and the past 10 in various marketing
and business development capacities. Mr. Coghill joined
DALSA in 1994 as a technical program manager, moved into
a new role created to oversee the sales and marketing
activities related to the company’s Application Specific
Contracts group and then on to the Corporate Business
Development Manager role. During his tenure in this position
he was largely responsible for the process that resulted
in the restructuring of the company during the fall of
2000 and the creation of the DALSA Digital Cinema strategic
business unit. During this period Mr. Coghill also earned
his MBA degree from the top business school in Canada
, Queen’s University at Kingston . Given
the nascent state of the business unit for the past
two years, as the General Manager of the Digital Cinema
division he has been primarily responsible for directing
the R&D team working on the development of the Origin
digital cinematography camera recently demonstrated
at NAB in April. He is also responsible for the development
of strategic and business development plans for the
division, now his primary focus. The positive response
received at NAB has encouraged DALSA to add significantly
to the resources dedicated to this business unit, including
a level of R&D management that will allow Mr. Coghill
to focus exclusively on the business and relationship
development activities required to build a name for
a newcomer to the industry such as DALSA. |

Day , Volker’s visual effects mastery positions him

to telling big screen stories on independent budgets.
The team has collaborated on their first feature, Coronado
, as writers,
producers and VFX supervisors working with first-time
writer and director Claudio Faeh. Prior to forming Uncharted
Territory, Volker worked on director Roland Emmerich’s
1998 version of Godzilla (TriStar, Independent
Pictures) as the film’s Visual Effects Supervisor, leading
a team of 500 visual effects specialists. In 1995, Volker,
worked as Visual Effects Supervisor, together with Doug
Smith, on Independence Day delivering over 400
effect shots and overseeing a crew of 325 effect specialists.
When he was only twenty-three years old, Volker first
worked with Emmerich in Germany
as Visual Effects
Supervisor on Moon 44 , the director’s last feature
before he came to the U.S.
Volker supervised the
model effects on Emmerich’s Universal Soldier

With
a degree in philosophy and a masters in architecture from
MIT, Ron Frankel lives in Los Angeles designing complex
production sequences for film and television. Through
typically unusual circumstances he began his career in
New York as an illustrator/graphic designer for interactive
cd-rom games. While in New York he joined forces with
Pixel Liberation Front to help expand their feature film
business and ultimately became the PLF Creative Director,
co-founding their Los Angeles office. Encouraged by the
success of previs on projects such as Starship Troopers
, Fight Club , Panic Room and Minority
Report and the promise of further exploration into
the technical/artistic design process of feature film
production, Ron recently founded Proof, through which
he will continue to push the state of the art of previsualization.

Bernie
Laramie has been a Producer in Los Angeles , CA for more
than 25 years. He is best known for his recent work as
a Producer on CBS’ “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” (PGA
Kodak Vision Award; Golden Globe Nomination for Best Dramatic
Series, etc.) as well as work on such series as “Profiler”
and Dark Skies” for NBC, (Emmy for Best Main Title Picture,
Emmy Nomination for Best Main Title Music; ITV Monitor
Award for Visual Effects) “The Invaders” for Fox Television,
“War on the Worlds” for UPN, and “Max Headroom” for ABC
(Emmy for Sound). Bernie is currently producer on “Theat
Matrix” for the upcoming fall season on ABC. After many
years as an editor in sitcoms, then a Director in commercials,
Bernie became a Director of Post Production at Lorimar
in the mid 80’s, leading the transition from film to electronic
post production at the first major production company
to take a corporate conversion to the new technology.
While there, he pioneered many state of the art post production
techniques used today including the use of electronic
non linear systems for editing, computer graphics for
special effects and 16mm and 3 perf 35mm for film and
television production.
Bernie
was a consultant to Lucasfilm’s Droidworks in the creation
of Editdroid, the first non linear editing system editing
system used for dramatic television post production,
and Convergence Corp., creators of the breakthrough
editing system for electronic news. Priot to his work
at Lorimar, Bernie owned and operated this own commercial
production service, Milestone, one of the pioneering
visual effects companies used by clients such as IBM
and ATT. While there, Bernie created advertising campaigns
for ABC Network, OnTv, Ford, Mazda, Califonia Raisins,
and California Milk Advisory Board. Bernie teaches Post
Production for Film & Television at UCLA Extension
and has been a guest lecturer at USC, Cal Arts and Santa
Monica College . He is currently working on preparing
his course for UCLA’s Online studies. Bernie is a member
of The Producer’s Guild, Director’s Guild, Editor’s
Guild, and The Society of Motion Picture and Television
Engineers (SMPTE). He has recently collaborated on a
textbook for Allyn & Bacon “Creative Post Production”.

tackling feature films in the nineties, McDowell studied
painting at the Central School of Art in London , designed
punk rock album covers in the late seventies, and music
videos and commercials in the eighties with directors

Founder Colin Ritchie has worked within the entertainment
industry for over 20 years. His career has taken him around
the globe many times working with the world’s most advanced
post-production companies, broadcasters and manufacturers.
In the early nineties Ritchie focused his attentions on
the burgeoning business of digital effects in the motion
picture industry, joining Eastman Kodak’s Cineon team.
Working with a new breed of post-production company, Ritchie
began the deployment of digital film technology in the
United States and Europe. Joining Quantel’s film division
in 1994, Ritchie continued the deployment of high performance
hardware working with the visual effects’ teams on Stargate,
Independence Day and Lost in Space. From there he continued
his relationship within the visual effects industry by
working on some of the early previsualization technology,
and worked closely with visual effects companies developing
higher performance platforms. For the past four
years Ritchie has worked and consulted with entertainment
companies within the interactive television arena, as
well as global connectivity for digital dailies. Most

promoted a ground breaking graphics workstation, and introduced
the Colossus digital intermediate color corrector. Ritchie
has gained considerable knowledge of the digital intermediate
process, working with companies such as Sony Imageworks
and assisting them to complete projects, such as Stuart
Little II. Founding Aarmadillo in October 2002,
Ritchie continues his focus on the post-production film
and TV industry. Aarmadillo is a unique resource for both
post-production companies, and manufacturers with software
and hardware targeted towards these premier clients.

Effects Supervisor on the Emmy nominated TV movie Superfire
, after spending several months in New Zealand as Visual
Effects Supervisor for on Extreme Team, a television pilot
for Touchstone Pictures. He has worked on several Star
Trek series, the feature films Mimic 2 and The Jackal,

vice president of the National Geographic Film Library,
Matthew White runs the day-to-day operations of the film
and video archiving and licensing division of National
Geographic Television & Film (NGT&F). Under his
direction, the Film Library markets its award-winning
footage to advertisers, educators, scientists, entertainment
producers, museum curators and corporate marketers for
commercial use in advertising campaigns, television and
film productions, museum exhibits, research projects,
classroom/educational productions and corporate presentations.
In 2002 and early 2003, White led a strategic alliance
with Associated Press Television Network to syndicate
the Film Library’s footage internationally, and developed
relationships with Yahoo! and AOL to create a branded
