About MoCom:

Mobile communication is going through a sea change. With 3G networks and improving computational power, the most advanced mobile phones are morphing from “smart phones” into computing platforms that will be far more important to most of the world than PCs. Phones like the iPhone -- and before the end of the year, Google’s Android -- are the first in a series of such mobile computing devices that will blur the distinction between desktops and cell phones, and the types of applications that run on both.
 
The purpose of MoCom is to examine the features of this new mobile landscape and the hottest emerging applications. This year’s agenda will include a panel on the implications for the mobile industry of the 3G iPhone and the Android;  the impact of WiFi and WiMax; mobile social networks; the evolution of GPS; and next-gen mobile marketing
