Thomas Gewecke was named President, Warner Bros. Digital Distribution in December 2007.  In this position, Gewecke works to extend Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group’s digital strategy and reach across current and emerging platforms.  Charged with global responsibility for the strategic growth initiatives around all of WBHEG’s assets, Gewecke guides development and execution of activities in the wireless, online, transactional video-on-demand/pay-per-view and electronic-sell-through sectors.  He is also responsible for identifying strategic partnerships and next generation distribution channels to open new revenue streams. Warner Bros. Digital Distribution is part of the Studio’s Home Entertainment Group, which brings together all of its businesses involved in the digital delivery of entertainment content to consumers, including home video, online, wireless and games, and is focused on protecting and maximizing the value of the Studio’s content, while fully harnessing the benefits of emerging technologies. Gewecke joined WBDD from Sony BMG Music Entertainment, where as Executive Vice President, Global Digital Business, he was responsible for worldwide digital business development efforts and oversaw the creation of new digital ventures.  In addition, Gewecke oversaw the company’s online advertising, digital long-form video and direct-to-consumer commerce businesses, and led its expansion into the US off-deck mobile market.

Entertainment to a number one position by executing against a vision to be the partner of choice with the entertainment industry, while consistently delivering compelling content to a broad and diverse consumer base. Recent successes include a strategic partnership with Hulu, providing consumers with free access to full-length episodes of their favorite TV shows; taking a commanding lead with Yahoo! Movies in providing the highest quality streaming video content and exclusives on the Internet (such as the recent “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” trailer); and the launch of celebrity news and gossip site omg!, which has risen to number one in only six months. By erasing the barriers between categories of entertainment, Yahoo! Entertainment is consumers' starting point for their entertainment interests. It now reaches a larger daily audience than most other forms of media combined. Gilford has a deep understanding of the convergence of entertainment, the Internet and the digital space through her prior role as Director of On-Demand Services for Yahoo! Music. In that position, Gilford was charged with overseeing the strategy and development of digital music services and products to provide Yahoo! consumers the most comprehensive music experience on the Web. Gilford spearheaded the successful launch of the Yahoo! Music Jukebox application. Gilford helped guide the development of Yahoo! Music’s on-demand services across various distribution channels, including digital living room, mobile and access partners.
Marshall Herskovitz Marshall Herskovitz

Marshall Herskovitz is the co-creator, producer, director and writer of NBC’s new drama series “quarterlife.” First made as an Internet series, "quarterlife" explores the lives of six creative twentysomethings trying to find their way in the world. Herskovitz has enjoyed a distinguished career in the worlds of both film and television. A native of Philadelphia, he attended Brandeis University and then the American Film Institute (AFI), where he and “quarterlife” co-creator Edward Zwick met in 1975 and formed a long and successful creative partnership. Herskovitz started his career as a writer and director for several television series, until he teamed up with Zwick to create the breakthrough television movie “Special Bulletin” in 1983, for which Herskovitz won two Emmys, a Writers Guild Award, and the Humanitas Award. In 1985, Herskovitz and Zwick created The Bedford Falls Company, named for the town in “It’s a Wonderful Life.” The company’s first project was the acclaimed television series “thirtysomething,” for which Herskovitz received two more Emmy Awards, two Directors Guild Awards, a Writers Guild Award, a Humanitas award, the Golden Globe Award, the People’s Choice Award, the Peabody Award, and several others. In 1991, Herskovitz directed his first feature film, “Jack the Bear,” starring Danny DeVito, then two years later produced “Legends of the Fall,” starring Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins. The following year Herskovitz and Zwick teamed up to produce the groundbreaking series “My So-Called Life,” starring a then-unknown Claire Danes, followed by “relativity” in 1995. The next year Herskovitz spent six months in Rome, producing and directing the historical epic “Dangerous Beauty.” In 1999, Herskovitz and Zwick created and executive produced the award-winning series “Once and Again” for ABC. During the show’s three year run, he and Zwick produced “Traffic,” winner of two Golden Globe Awards and four Academy Awards, directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Benicio Del Toro; and “I Am Sam,” starring Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer. In 2003, Herskovitz co-wrote and produced “The Last Samurai,” directed by Zwick and starring Tom Cruise. He and Zwick most recently produced “Blood Diamond,” which Herskovitz also co-wrote. Herskovitz lives with his two daughters in Los Angeles. An active environmentalist, he has served on the board of several organizations committed to preserving America’s precious natural resources. He is currently serving as President of the Producers Guild of America.

She is one of the driving forces behind Forrester's Social Computing and Web 2.0 research, and examines how companies can use technologies like blogs, social networking, RSS, tagging, and widgets for marketing purposes. During her eight years at Forrester, Charlene has also led the marketing and media research team, and ran the San Francisco office. In her research, Charlene covers such marketing-related topics as consumer portals, search, and media site design. She also leverages her background in newspaper publishing and looks at online local media and online classifieds. In the past, she has also written about online advertising, online gaming, and media content strategies. She also contributes to her Groundswell blog and plans to publish a book by the same name in spring 2008.

Anu Kirk cannot escape music. First a (bad) drummer, then a (slightly less awful) classical oboe player, he succumbed to rock & roll and synthesizers during his teenage years. Anu was among the first employees at pioneering Internet start-up TuneTo.com where the service now known as Rhapsody was conceived. Prior to joining Technicolor, Ware was the co-founder and CEO of SyncCast, a leading digital media fulfillment company specializing in encoding and transcoding, digital rights management, delivery and distribution, as well as content management services. The technologies and services developed under Ware’s tutelage power solutions for such distinguished companies as Microsoft, Billboard, Warner Music Group, The Motion Picture Association of America, Lionsgate Entertainment, NBC Universal, EMI Music Group, DirecTV and many others. One crowning achievement of Ware’s career is the role that he and SyncCast played in launching Microsoft’s Xbox Video Market Place. Ware brought the end-to-end electronic fulfillment assets of SyncCast to bear what enabled Microsoft Xbox to successfully capture the second highest market share in the video download space - within a matter of months. The success of this accomplishment caught the attention of Technicolor which fully acquired SyncCast in July of 2007 and appointed Ware as CTO.
